PNC Park

PNC stadium, Pittsburgh Views

PNC Park, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is easily one of my favorite MLB stadiums, and not just for its incredible view of the Pittsburgh skyline. This ballpark is where I have one of my most cherished memories from my time as a student trainer for the University of Tennessee football team.

Why I Went:

During my senior year, I had the incredible opportunity to intern with the UT football team as part of my sports medicine program. It was a whirlwind experience filled with long hours, intense preparation, and a front-row seat to some unforgettable games. Our first away game of the season was against the University of Pittsburgh, and it felt extra special for me because it meant heading back to my home state of Pennsylvania. Despite living in Pennsylvania my entire life, I had never actually visited downtown Pittsburgh, so this trip was a first in more ways than one. Traveling with the team was an amazing blend of excitement and responsibility—ensuring the players were ready, managing equipment, and being part of the behind-the-scenes effort that made game day possible. The experience was even better because I got to share it with the training staff, who had become some of my closest friends during my time in the program.

The night before the game, the student trainers and equipment managers decided to catch a Pirates game at PNC Park. The Pirates were playing the St. Louis Cardinals, Evan’s favorite team. At the time, Evan and I were just friends. The game started with us sitting separately with our co-workers, but as the game went on, we all gravitated towards each other, soaking up the atmosphere and bonding over shared excitement. By the end of the game, Evan leaned over and asked me to finally be his girlfriend. It was a simple but unforgettable moment, surrounded by the gorgeous view of the city. PNC Park will always hold a special place in my heart for that reason.
